Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is a Romanian actress as well as a television host. Her most well-known work is the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz from a young age. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young as 16 years old. Her fame was due to her performance in Der Tunnel. This paved for her to play other memorable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominated movies featuring the divas. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable projects both nationally and internationally. The British biographical feature Control, the Greek dramatic The Dust of Time, and French historical mini-series Napoleon are just a few of the many. She also served on the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
